Emerge is a digital-first fintech company based in New Zealand, building two core products: a business banking platform for SMEs, and SquareOne—a financial education and banking app for families. The business app offers features like accounts, debit cards, expense management, and Xero integration, while SquareOne helps kids learn money skills with their first bank account and card, managed by parents.
My key impacts:
• Shipped multiple large-scale features end to end
• Led and executed major refactors to improve code quality and architecture
• Responsible for key technical decisions across both Android projects (Emerge and SquareOne)

Trade Republic is a mobile first neo-broker with the mission to democratise wealth across Europe, giving everyday people access to capital markets. I joined Trade Republic as one of the first 30 people, and over my time there the company grew to 650+ people.
As the sole Android Engineer when I joined, my role included maintaining the Android application, as well as building some of the larger main features. Over time, I built up and grew the Android function, hiring and managing a team of 10 Android Engineers, being a technical lead for Android and Mobile, and introducing required process to help the business scale as needed and mentoring engineers. My role eventuated in a combination of Engineering Manager and Staff Engineer / Technical Lead
